How I healed a rash caused by product reaction

A few days ago I had a terrible reaction to a cleansing balm (pictured below). Within 10mins of using it my face got covered in hives, I couldn't take photos because it happened at night, there was no light, and I took a antihistamine and proceeded with a calming gentle skincare routine and was much better the next day.

The culprit in this reaction was the *Lumity Nutrient Rich Skin Saviour (ironic I know). I have no idea what in the cleanser caused it, I'm not allergic to anything that I am aware of and very rarely react to anything. This cleansing balm does include a lot of fragrant essential oils and I'm thinking one of them caused the reaction but not entirely sure. The reason why I know it was this particular product is:
1- I never introduce more than one product at a time, in case something like this happens.
2- I didn't apply anything to my skin straight after using this. When trying a new cleanser, I'll often leave my skin dry for a few minutes to see if I get any dryness from it.

Now to the bit that matters, how I healed my skin almost overnight, I continued with this routine both morning and night for a few days after to make sure I was back to normal before applying anything active.

To make sure I removed every bit of this cleanser from my skin I did another quick cleanse with the *Indeed Labs Watermelon Melting Balm, this is the cleanser I've been reaching for lately, especially when using acids and actives. It's fragrance free (I don't have issues with fragrance and my skin doesn't react to it but I know some of you do so I'm just putting it out there), it's very gentle on the skin, it's formulated with Bisabolol, a very soothing ingredient and Vitamin E to help moisturise the skin. It's also a vegan formula and cruelty-free.

Followed by the *Swanicoco BiTamin C Calmdown Skintoner, this a waterless formula with 14 different fermented ingredients. It also contains peptides and soothing ingredients including one of my favorite ingredients in skincare: Niacinamide, it's very soothing and hydrating. I used 4/5 layers of this. Swanicoco is cruelty-free.

To lock all the hydration in my skin and add some moisture I then used the *Good Molecules Pure Cold-Pressed Rosehip Oil. Rosehip Oil is very skin friendly, it's very nourishing and promotes healing and regeneration, it is also very lightweight and due to it's high content of linoleic acid makes it a good choice for oily skin as well. I've been really loving this oil! It doesn't have any added fragrance so it won't aggravate the skin (the natural smell of the rosehip is not my favorite tbh but I love this so much that I can get past it). Vegan formula & cruelty-free.

The Dear, Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream is one of my favorite skincare products ever, it's desert island status for me for sure. I've never tried anything more soothing that this and I am never without it! It's not very hydrating but I don't use it as a moisturiser, I use more as a treatment under moisturizers, or oils in this case. I have many soothing products in my stash but nothing compares to this. It's perfect after sun exposure or any time your skin feel heated. I use a thick layer after waxing my upper lip and the redness disappears in a matter of hours. It's so so good. I always get the large tube of this and ALWAYS have a backup. Cruelty-free.

Around my eyes was the worst affected area, so instead of my usual eye creams, I've used a tiny bit of the *Skin Sapiens Lip Balm. It contains only 10 ingredients and it was the only balm I had I knew didn't have any potential irritants or clogging ingredients like coconut oil or shea butter.

Let me know what are your favorite soothing skincare products or the products you resort to when dealing with a rash.
